Participation Requirements and General Terms & Conditions1. Participation RequirementsEach participant must:
  • Be in good physical and mental condition;
  • Not have consumed alcohol or drugs prior to or during the activity (0% tolerance);
  • Be able to swim for water-based activities;
  • Hold valid accident insurance coverage.
Guideconcept reserves the right to cancel or modify any activity at any time due to water levels, weather conditions, safety concerns, or other unforeseen circumstances.

2. Minimum Physical Requirements by ActivityRafting – Leisure
  • Ability to submerge head underwater for 10 seconds
  • Ability to jump forward a distance equal to one-third of one’s height
  • Ability to swim 50 meters
  • Age: minimum 8 years / maximum 80 years
Rafting – Sport (Saanen – Château d’Oex)
  • Ability to submerge head underwater for 15 seconds
  • Ability to jump forward a distance equal to half of one’s height
  • Ability to swim 100 meters
  • Age: minimum 10 years / maximum 70 years
Canyoning – Aquatic Hiking
  • Ability to submerge head underwater for 10 seconds
  • Ability to jump forward a distance equal to half of one’s height
  • Ability to walk off-trail for 1 hour
  • Ability to swim 50 meters
  • Age: minimum 9 years / maximum 70 years
Hydrospeed
  • Ability to submerge head underwater for 15 seconds
  • Ability to jump forward a distance equal to half of one’s height
  • Ability to swim 500 meters continuously
  • Age: minimum 16 years / maximum 70 years
Inflatable Kayak – River Class I–II
  • Ability to submerge head underwater for 5 seconds
  • Ability to jump forward a distance equal to one-third of one’s height
  • Ability to swim 50 meters
  • Age: minimum 8 years / maximum 80 years
Inflatable Kayak – River Class III and above
  • Ability to submerge head underwater for 15 seconds
  • Ability to jump forward a distance equal to half of one’s height
  • Ability to swim 500 meters continuously
  • Age: minimum 16 years / maximum 70 years

3. General Terms Applicable to GuidesThe term “Guide” refers collectively to UIAGM mountain guides, climbing instructors, and hiking guides, each operating within their legally defined scope of competence (cf. LEAE VD art. 29 para. 1 and 2).
For group activities, the online registration form and all related information provided constitute the contractual agreement between the participant and the Guide organizing the activity.
For private services, the agreement between the Guide and the client constitutes the contract.
These contracts are governed by:
  • The present General Terms and Conditions; and
  • The General Terms of the Swiss Mountain Guides Association.
Place of jurisdiction: Lausanne, Switzerland.

4. SupervisionActivities are supervised by qualified and certified professionals (UIAGM mountain guides, certified climbing instructors, or accredited hiking guides), all holding valid practice authorizations and required insurance.
The Guide undertakes to carry out the planned activity as far as reasonably possible, taking into account:
  • Environmental and mountain conditions;
  • Group size and participant abilities.
Safety, success, and client satisfaction are prioritized.
The Guide may be assisted by other guides or trainee guides. In certain activities (e.g., climbing gyms, orientation, snowshoe hiking), a trainee guide may independently supervise.

5. LiabilityThe Guide organizing the activity bears sole responsibility for:
  • Organization;
  • Field operations;
  • Financial management of the activity.
Guideconcept declines all liability in this regard.

6. PricesPrices are quoted per person and include guiding services.
For multi-day activities, half-board accommodation (hut, lodge, or hotel) is included.
Not included:
  • Transport costs
  • Lift passes
  • Personal expenses

7. RegistrationRegistration is completed via the official online form.
Only complete applications received within the specified deadlines will be considered.
Full payment (100%) is required prior to the activity. Registration is only confirmed upon receipt of payment.

8. Cancellation PolicyIn accordance with the Swiss Mountain Guides Association (art. 12.3):
  • 60–31 days before: 25% of fees
  • 30–11 days before: 50% of fees
  • 10 days or less: 100% of fees
Participants are strongly advised to obtain cancellation insurance.

9. InsuranceParticipants must hold valid accident and health insurance including mountain rescue and repatriation coverage (e.g., REGA).
Cancellation insurance is recommended.

10. Insufficient ParticipantsActivities may be cancelled if the minimum number of participants is not reached.
Alternative arrangements may be proposed:
  • Shortened duration
  • Adjusted pricing
  • Rescheduling

11. TransportTransport is generally organized using participants’ vehicles.
Costs are shared among participants. If the Guide’s vehicle is used, a contribution may be required.

12. Additional Participation ConditionsParticipants must:
  • Strictly follow the Guide’s instructions;
  • Abstain from alcohol and drugs before and during activities.

13. Pendulum JumpGeneral Conditions:
  • Minimum age: recommended from 13 years
  • Maximum weight: 120 kg
  • Participants under 16 require written parental consent
  • Participants over 75 require a medical certificate
Health Requirements:Participants must not suffer from:
  • Pregnancy
  • Epilepsy
  • Cardiovascular conditions
  • High blood pressure
  • Musculoskeletal injuries
  • Chronic ear disorders affecting balance

14. Pendulum Jump (Wheelchair Participants)
  • Recommended age: from 14 years
  • Must be able to transfer independently into a wheelchair
  • Maximum weight: approx. 110 kg
Participants must have sufficient upper body strength and neck stability due to centrifugal forces.

15. Risk Acknowledgment and WaiverActivities such as canyoning, rafting, climbing, cycling, rappelling, and pendulum jumping involve inherent risks.
By participating, the participant acknowledges that:
  • They will strictly follow all instructions;
  • They have informed the Guide of any health conditions;
  • They participate at their own risk;
  • They waive claims against the organizer except in cases of gross negligence or intentional misconduct.
Participants confirm they hold adequate personal insurance (accident, illness, civil liability).

16. Personal BelongingsThe organizer declines all liability for loss or damage to personal valuables (jewelry, cash, watches, electronic devices, etc.).

17. Payment TermsPrices are stated in Swiss Francs (CHF), VAT included.
Failure to pay within deadlines may result in:
  • Refusal of services;
  • Application of cancellation fees.

18. Package OffersGroup packages:
  • Must be paid in full shortly after confirmation;
  • Are non-refundable if fewer participants attend;
  • Additional participants will be charged proportionally.

19. Administrative Fees
  • Payment processing issues: CHF 50 fee
  • Payment reminders:
    • First reminder: CHF 0–20
    • Second reminder: CHF 50
    • First notice: CHF 70
    • Second notice: CHF 70
    • Debt collection proceedings may follow
